  About the Author

HIROAKI MIYOSHI is Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Institute of Technology, Enterprise and Competiveness at Doshisha University, Japan. Before joining Doshisha University in 2003, Professor Miyoshi worked at a major private-sector think tank for ten years, conducting research and making policy recommendations on a broad range of issues. 
  
YOSHIFUMI NAKATA is Professor of Human Resource Management and Director-General of the Institute of Technology, Enterprise, and Competiveness at Doshisha University, Japan. Professor Nakata's recent publications include Increasing Labor Flexibility in Japan: The Role of Female Workers in Manufacturing, in C. Brown et al. (eds.) Labor in the Era of Globalization.
